Xavi raging after Barca draw with thuggish Getafe

Xavi Hernandez ended the match between Getafe and FC Barcelona very angry, especially because of the type of play by the home side that was not stopped by the referee, who did send off Raphinha for a clear aggression, and the coach himself for protesting.

"I told him that they were allowing a lot of fouls and we weren't, so he sent me off. The other day we had a meeting with the referees and one of the first changes they were going to implement in the regulations was that they would understand the coaches more because we are in tension. My sending off doesn't matter, we tried everything we could against a very tough opponent. We took a point which is not enough, it's a shame," Xavi told DAZN after the game.

"The referee is the one who allows it, there is no other way. They are allowing too much. If we sell the LaLiga product and we have this, it doesn't help anyone..." he added. "It's an accumulation of things, they let them play, we get whistled... There's no need to think about it any more. Last year we started the same way and we finished well. We didn't play well in the first half, but we had chances in the second. They were comfortable wasting time at 0-0, that's their football".

Later, at the press conference, Xavi was even harsher about what happened at the Coluseum Alfonso Pérez.

"It's normal that people don't want to watch football," said the Barça coach. "This was not a match, today's product is a disgrace.

"I don't see any handball anywhere. If there are no clear hands, they don't whistle, that's what we were told. I didn't like the meeting with the referees and I didn't like it today either," he continued.

"The handball was invented. In the meeting they said they were going to understand the coaches, but they didn't understand me."
