The Barcelona coach understands how the Catalan club works
Xavi Hernández is convinced that Barcelona is the most difficult club in the world. He has said it on several occasions, but this Saturday the Barça coach went a little further. In response to a question about Frenkie de Jong, he made a reflection on the 'famous' Barça environment.
"The Barça environment has a great capacity to undervalue everything. A player who is an 8 (out of 10) is a 6, a player who is a 10 is an 8. Barça players have to be very strong mentally. In other clubs, this doesn't happen. You feel it with the players when you talk to them. Frenkie is one of the best midfielders in the world. And you see it on a day-to-day basis," said Xavi, who during his playing career had plenty of time to get to know how the ecosystem around the club works.
"I know where I am. This is the most demanding club in the world. Anyone who says otherwise has never been here. You have to win, play well and everything has to be perfect. There is no other club like this and anyone who says otherwise has never been at Barça..."." added Xavi in a forceful manner but without leaving a semi-smile on his face.
