Xavi on Adama Traore's ostracism: It's a question of performance
The winger started off with a bang but has dropped out of the team in recent weeks
Adama Traore had an immediate impact at Barcelona. The winger set up a goal against Atletico and against Espanyol. However his time on the pitch has been diluted in recent weeks, and he has barely featured.
Xavi was asked about the winger and his ostracism and made it clear that Barcelona are not going to pay 30m euros for him.
“We will decide his future when we know the economic situation,” said Xavi.
“He’s been important, especially in the weeks after he arrived. He has a lot of competition with Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembele. When he was better than them, he played. Now it’s the reverse. It’s a question of performance.”
The most likely thing, it seems, is that Adama Traore goes back to Wolves at the end of the current season.
