The Barcelona boss says he must deliver success this season

Xavi Hernandez insisted that the objective this season is to win trophies despite the setbacks against Inter Milan and Real Madrid this past week. He also accepts that if success does not come, "another coach will. That's the life of a manage, it can happen at any moment."

The Barça coach spoke to the media ahead of Thursday's LaLiga match against Villarreal at Camp Nou. "We have to fight for trophies, I still think that. We have a squad to win trophies," he assured after a difficult week in Europe and domestically.

He continued: "We strengthened well (in the summer) although we have missed some big players which has been noticeable, but out squad is very good. The objective is to win trophies, we can't hide from that despite recent games and we won't change the discourse after the draw with Inter and the loss at the Bernabeu.

"I am honest and I don't want to deceive people, with the effort the club have made, I think we need success now. This is Barça. If not, there are consequences, and I will be first. I am responsible and if not another coach will come in and try. This is Barça and it is what it is."

The Barça coach said about losing the club's confidence "would be understandable at any moment, that's the life of a coach. People encourage me on the street. Positivity, that's football. We have to continue. A loss at the Bernabeu can't stop us. If we are knocked out of the Champions League, we will have to face another reality. I am always positive."
