Xavi Hernández's Verratti recommendation that Barça can't ignore

Xavi Hernández, ex-FC Barcelona captain and now playing in Qatar, has once again recommended signing PSG’s Italian midfielder Marco Verratti. Xavi, who was one of the first to give his seal of approval to the move, insists that Verratti would be the best reinforcement for Barça.

“For me, he would be the best signing for FC Barcelona”, Xavi said from the camp he organises at El Collell, “For me, he is a spectacular player. I don’t know if he is worth €70 million or €200 million, I’m only talking about football. And currently he is the central midfielder Barça should buy. He has Barça DNA”.

Xavi also talked about Andrés Iniesta, who has still not renewed his contract. Xavi understands his friend. “I understand Iniesta perfectly because when you get to 32 or 33 you have to start to think about the future. I think he will make a leap forward with Valverde. I see him at Barcelona for another year”.
