Xavi Hernandez reaches a deal with Barcelona
The Catalan coach has agreed to take over the club of his life
SPORT have learned from sources close to the deal that Xavi Hernandez and FC Barcelona have reached a deal for him to coach the team. After Ronald Koeman was sacked the club turned to their former midfielder, coaching Al Sadd in Qatar. He was their first option this time around.
With the deal sealed, now they just need to reach an agreement with Al Sadd. The coach has a 1 million euro release clause. They hope the deal can be made official in the coming hours.
Barcelona and Xavi have also agreed on his technical team. His brother Oscar and Sergio Alegre, as assistants, and Ivan Torres as a fitness coach.
