Xavi Hernandez: We are big Luis Enrique fans
The former Barca midfielder praised the coach and says he loves the style
Xavi Hernandez spoke about the Spanish national team ahead of the Nations League final. The former Barcelona midfielder hung up his boots with 133 caps so he knows what he’s talking about.
Speaking to TV3 the current Al Sadd coach said he’s a fan of Luis Enrique. “Of course we back Luis Enrique! He’s a very, very good coach, very capable, he demands a lot from you, he gives a lot to the player.”
Xavi also likes what he’s doing with Gavi and Co. “In Spain a lot of fantastic young players are formed and it’s very brave on the part of Luis Enrique.”
The coach also likes the way Spain play. “I see myself reflected totally in the national team’s style. It’s the style we’ve worked on for many years, dominating with the ball, an attractive, attacking style.”
However he doesn’t put Spain as favourites on Sunday night. “Maybe because they have a bit more experience I’d say France are favourites.”
