Xavi calls up five reserve teamers for Barça training... and a 15-year-old kid

Guille Fernández has been making waves in the academy and Xavi wanted to check him out

Quite a few lesser known players were present at FC Barcelona's training session on Wednesday. With up to 10 players away on international duty, Xavi Hernández had very few first-team players to work with. Mostly because in addition to the 'exiles,' he is also without the injured players: Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Jules Koundé and Raphinha.

Therefore, the Baça coach called up Marc Guiu, Pau Victor, Unai, Guille Fernández, Paul Cubarsí and goalkeeper Yaakobishvili to complete the session, which was carried out in a calm way. Most of them had already taken part in some sessions with the first team -- all of them except Guille, in fact.

GUILLE, 15 YEARS OLD AND A BIG FUTURE

He is a player from the Cadete age group (u16a) and he is still only 15 years old. The youngster spent last season with the Cadete A and in the current season he is alternating between Juvenil B and Juvenil A (u19s). He is on the club's radar as a project player for Barça Atlètic and the first team. Although he still has a long way to go, Wednesday was an important moment for him.

The team will train again on Thursday and then Xavi will rest the squad until Monday.
