Why did new boy Yerry Mina take first Camp Nou steps with bare feet?

He did the same when he signed for Palmeiras
Yerry Mina took his boots and socks off to step on the Camp Nou turf for the first time. It's a ritual he also performed when he signed for Brazilian side Palmeiras.
The reason for the ritual, which surprised the 8,000 people at the stadium for his presentation, is a religious one.
"It's a proverb from the Bible," Mina explained. "It says that with the planting of your [bare] feet you will touch the terrain you want to conquer. And I want to succeed here."
The full passage (from Deuteronomy 11:24) is: "Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea."
