Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is not with the first team for their game in Germany against Borussia Monchengladbach. Instead, he stayed in Spain, heading to another Champions League group stage game.
He went to Madrid to the Vicente Calderon to take in Atletico’s clash with Bayern Munich in Group D, the latest instalment of Diego Simeone against Carlo Ancelotti following the latter’s time in charge of Real Madrid.
Robert could be watching any number of players. There are several playing who have been on Barcelona’s agenda before and others who may be future targets. Among them are Bayern Munich’s David Alaba and Atletico’s Saul Niguez, who have both been watched by the Catalan club before.
