Who will replace the injured Cillessen for Barça?
The Dutch stopper suffered an injury this Wednesday and will be out for the next 2-3 weeks
There's only been two official matches in the 2018/19 season and the bad news is rolling in for FC Barcelona. Both Sergi Samper and Jasper Cillessen suffered injuries this Wednesday.
The academy midfielder has a sprained ankle, which could keep him out for over a month, while the goalkeeper has a rib injury and won't be available for the next 2-3 weeks.
Ernesto Valverde must pick a replacement for Cillessen this Friday after a training session at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. All signs point to Jokin Ezkieta being named on the bench, ready to come on should anything happen to starting keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Ezkieta, who was born in Pamplona in 1996, joined Barça in 2015 after a stint at Osasuna's academy. This season he joined the first team for the United States tour although he didn't play in a single match. He was on the bench for the Joan Gamper game as the third choice keeper.
If not Ezkieta, the other option is Lazar Carevic, who plays for the youth side. However Adrian Ortola isn't available, he was loaned to Deportivo, or Iñaki Peña, who is also injured.
