Barcelona are undecided whether to sign the centre-back this summer

Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet remains one of Barcelona's targets for next season, although the club have not yet taken a definitive decision on the signing.

Barca are still analysin whether to pay the French centre-back's release clause, which is 30 million euros until the end of June. On July 1, it increased to 45 million euros. For that reason, sporting director Robert Fernandez was at the Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday to watch Lenglet in Sevilla's game against Real Madrid.

At the moment, there are different opinions in the offices at Camp Nou regarding Lenglet. One section of the club want to sign him regardless of whether or not Samuel Umtiti leaves. Others, though, see him as an option only if Umtiti doesn't renew and goes for his 60 million euro release clause.

One difficulty in doing a deal is that Lenglet wants the promise of regular football. If Umtiti stay, then, it's unlikely he will accept Barcelona's offer. At 22, his aim is to play regular football, consolidate himself in the elite and in the France national team.

Barça have maintained contact with the player's agents in recent weeks and have a meeting planned soon. There's a good relationship between both parties.
