The coach will make some changes from the Valencia game

The season is reaching its vital stage. Rotations and changes are necessary to keep squads fresh and it is no different for Barcelona, who are aiming to complete another historic season.

They are alive in the three main competitions and would love to win the treble again. After a 1-0 win over Valencia on Thursday in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg, Ernesto Valverde is ready to make changes against Espanyol on Sunday.

In goal, Ter Stegen will return, that's obvious. In defence, Sergi Roberto may be rested for Nelson Semedo, who was not included against Valencia. The Portuguese is improving and understands what Valverde wants better than ever.

COUTINHO ON FAMILIAR TURF

In the middle of the pitch there's a chance Andre Gomes will return but the big change will be Philippe Coutinho. It will be his second start of the season after arriving in January. Valverde is embedding him slowly but he will face his former side at Cornella.

Up front we don't know if Luis Suarez will start or not. He is in sweet form, with 13 goals in 11 games, including one last night against Valencia. However he may be rested for Paco Alcacer against Espanyol.
