Thomas Vermaelen and Munir El Haddadi made their Barcelona 'debuts' under Ernesto Valverde against Manchester United. Neither player is in the coach's plans, but he gave them the second half at the FedEx Field. However, Douglas has still not played, another of the players who will be allowed to leave if he gets an offer. The Brazilian wants to remain in Spain to get citizenship.
Vermaelen returned to Barça this summer after a loan move to Roma spoiled by injuries. He had an offer from Torino, but both Barça and the defender felt it was too low. Munir, in exchange, has various offers on the table. Barça want 20 million euros but may have to drop their price demands to close a deal.
Barça beat United 1-0 with a goal from Neymar. The Brazilian followed up his two goals against Juventus with a 32nd minute strike in Maryland, but his future remains in the air with an offer from Paris Saint-Germain still on the table.
