The two players had a busier international break than some of their teammates

Ernesto Valverde took charge of Friday’s training session as Barcelona prepared for Saturday’s game against Real Sociedad in San Sebastian. The Barça coach, after the international break, was interested in the physical condition of two of his players especially.

The Txingurri had a brief chat with Sergio Busquets before training, something which was repeated with Luis Suarez. They’re two of the players that played the most during the international break. Valverde, surely, wanted to check in on how they’re both feeling going into the match at Anoeta this weekend.

Above all, Busquets. The midfielder started for Spain against Croatia and England in the UEFA Nations League, playing the most minutes. However, Valverde will be reluctant to leave him out of his team given his importance.

As for Suarez, the travel is more of a concern. He was in Houston in the United States for Uruguay’s game against Mexico. Everything suggests Valverde will make changes but it remains to be seen what rotations he will make based on how he sees his players — and how they feel themselves.

RETURN OF THE BRAZILIANS

Arthur and Coutinho were the last two players to return to work at the Ciutat Esportiva. The two Brazilians wee involved in their countries games against the USA and El Salvador in the last week and only returned one day before the trip to La Real. Both could be substitutes.

Meanwhile, Sergi Samper is back training with the group, despite not having the all clear to return to action yet. Denis Suarez was also involved, as well as Barça goalkeeper Jokin Ezkieta.
