The midfielder is in the squad for Saturday's Valencia game

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde insisted that the importance of Sergio Busquets to the team means he will play against Valencia, despite the broken bone in his foot.

"It's an important game and Busquets will be there," Valverde said ahead of the game at Camp Nou on Saturday, which kicks off at 16.15 CET.

The Barca midfielder broke a bone in his foot against Chelsea and had painkilling injections to play in the matches against Roma in the Champions League.

He didn't play against Leganes in the middle of those two games, although he has been included in the squad to face Valencia.

Rakitic, ABSENT

However, Valverde is without Ivan Rakitic, who had an operation on a broken finger this week, which he injured against Roma on Tuesday.

Asked about the physical condition of his squad, Valverde said in general it's good, although he bemoaned the untimely injuries suffered by Busquets and Rakitic.

"I wish Busquets' foot and Rakitic's finger were healthy, but generally, the fitness levels are fine," the coach said.
