Valverde insinuates that Messi won't rest against Leganes
The Barça coach says Messi needs to play to be at his best
Ernesto Valverde appeared in a press conference on Friday before Barcelona's La Liga game against Leganes at Camp Nou on Saturday. The coach spoke about a hypothetical rest fo Lionel Messi, something he doesn't seem to be thinking about.
The 'Txingurri' was asked if it was possible that Messi would not play against Leganes: "We will see. But, well, he rested from the start against Sevilla. He had some problems and didn't play for the national team... We're going to see. He's a player that wants to be active because he feels better, but we have to speak after training.
Messi said a few days ago that he needs to play to feel good and that breaks can ruin his rhythm. Therefore, he may not miss the Leganes game, despite the trip to Rome around the corner.
In any case, it will be after training on Friday when Valverde, along with Messi, decides whether to include the Argentine in his squad. Everything suggests yes.
