The Barça boss says he's ready to keep leading Barça despite Liverpool loss

Ernesto Valverde had to deal with a tough press conference on Saturday following the midweek loss to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Perhaps the second toughest, given the worst took place at Anfield immediately after Barça's 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday.

"I haven't seen the game again but I can see it clearly in my head," he said ahead of Sunday's game against Getafe. "You always analyse the game, how it went. We could have scored. We knew they would start strongly. After we grew into the game and we had chances.

"But the reality is when you concede four goals there's not much you can analyse. They've scored four and the analysis is always going to fall on the bad side.

"When something like this happens you have to burn everything, break everything"

Asked on various occasions about his future, Valverde assured: "I feel strong, I am fine. We're hurting, I can't deny that. We have a responsibility to ourselves and also to our fans. You can lose a semifinal against Liverpool because they're a great team. The problem is how we lost, how we gave up such a favourable situation.

"We have to take a step forward. It's tough, it's complicated. The legs weigh more, things that were flowing before now aren't... but there's nothing else but to go again."

the Barça coach also responded to questions about if he had met with the board: "Yes, like always. I spoke with the president [Josep Maria Bartomeu] the day before yesterday and I have always felt backed by the club.

"I know there's a whirlwind of comments after a game like that, it's part of the show in sport. When something like this happens it seems everything has to be burned down, like when our kids have a tantrum -- but then you have to build it all back up again afterwards."
