Valverde confirms SPORT story: Barca looking after Messi
The coach said that the club are taking care of Messi who has had some minor physical problems
Ernesto Valverde confirmed SPORT’s story that Barcelona are looking after Lionel Messi physically. “We think he’s 100 per cent,” said Valverde. “We think he’ll be there (on Saturday), but I see he’s been having problems for some time. We’ve been looking after him n that sense for months, from before Christmas.”
Messi had a groin problem with the Argentina national team after the defeat by Venezuela.
“Now Messi is back, he’s had some days of rest and he’s better. We hope it’s easing, we will be careful with him, above all for how important it is that he’s there in our key games,” added Valverde.
“Messi(’s problem) we’re managing in a natural way. Yesterday he had a small problem in training but we’re all connected, we know ho the players are. That’s how we’ll take decisions. Like with Leo, who could have a small pain, the same as others could. Of course I speak to him, to know how he is, like the others.”
