Valencia hitman Paco Alcacer close to signing for FC Barcelona

Valencia forward Paco Alcacer is close to becoming a Barcelona player, after negotiations during the past few hours between the two clubs.

Alcacer has a release fee clause of 80 million euros but SPORT have learned that the club are willing to pay 25m for him.

Valencia owner Peter Lim and president Lay Hoon were in Barcelona on Friday, as revealed by SPORT. Sergi Samper will form part of the deal, set to move to Los Che on loan for a season.

Alcacer has been chosen by Barcelona to take the fourth striker spot behind the MSN trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, with Munir El Haddadi likely to be sent on loan if the deal can be completed.

Alcacer, a 22-year-old forward who fits the Barcelona target profile, is one of Spanish football's most promising strikers, and was wanted by Villarreal too.
