The Dutch forward is looking like a clever signing on a free transfer this summer

Memphis Depay was the star of the show in the first half of Barcelona's friendly against Stuttgart on Saturday in Germany.

The Dutch forward scored the first and helped create the second goal as Barça eased into a two-goal lead by the break.

Memphis opened the scoring with a brilliant touch and finish as he collected a long pass from his international teammate Frenkie de Jong.

The former Lyon man, a summer signing on a free transfer, then played in Antoine Griezmann, who squared for Yusuf Demir to score his first Barça goal.

Against Girona last week, when he scored a penalty, meaning he now has two goals in two appearances for Barça.

In the Stuttgart match, he partnered Griezmann and Demir in attack and looked to have an especially good relationship with the France forward.

With Lionel Messi yet to sign his contract and come back, Memphis is showing that he's capable of taking on responsibility in the Barça attack.

This was only his second appearance but he showed enormous quality throughout.
