Jerome Bigot has joined Eric Abdial's team until 2021

FC Barcelona have a new international scout to help recruit players. His name is Jerome Bigot, a presenter for beIN Sports in France. The news was revealed by "El Club de la Mitjanit" on TV3 on Monday night.

Bigot, who was a goalkeeper in the lower leagues in France, has been signed by Eric Abidal, Barça's new sporting director. The two met while working for beIN during Euro 2016.

TV3 revealed that Bigot's job will be "Barça's observer in two territories," in concrete France (first and second division) and Italy. Equally, he will cover "minor leagues" in Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic.

Bigot, appointed on Sept. 1, has signed a three-year contract (until June 2021, when the current board's mandate expires).

Since Abidal replaced Robert Fernandez earlier this summer, Barcelona have given even more importance to the French markey, an area which Bigot specialises in.
