In this morning's edition of Tuttosport there was a massive transfer story involving Barcelona and one of the most expensive players in history. According to Raffaele Diverso, who covers Barça for the Turin based newspaper, he claims that Eric Abidal held a secret meeting with Paul Pogba in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The objective of this meeting? To find out whether it'd be possible for the French midfielder to quit Manchester United and sign for Barcelona.
The Italian journalist claims that the real reason Abidal flew out to the United States was to meet with Pogba at the end of his summer break.
According to the same information this wasn't two old friends catching up. Instead Abidal insisted that the pair meet in a private villa to avoid any possible sanctions for Barça by speaking to a player under contract to another club.
Tuttosport also claim that Pogba wants to leave Manchester United. His relationship with Jose Mourinho is at its worst point ever and despite joining for a club record €120m fee, he doesn't plan on spending another season alongside the Portuguese coach.
Juventus, who would love to bring Pogba back, are strapped for cash until they can offload Pjanic. This means that Barcelona have the advantage in the battle to rescue Pogba from his Old Trafford hell.
