The true cost of sacking Ronald Koeman is 13 million euros
The coach may yet be sacked, the decision will be taken in the next fortnight
Ronald Koeman and Barcelona will sit down again in a fortnight and this time take a decisive decision over his future. They had a half hour meeting at the club offices on Tuesday but next time it will be a bigger one.
Barca have done the numbers to work out how much it will cost to sack Ronald Koeman. When he arrived Barca had to pay Holland five million euros, as he left the Dutch national team.
Some sources say the coach paid it out of his own pocket, others say it hasn’t yet been paid. In any case, the fee was 5.8m euros. Barca will have to pay him that if he does not stay until the end of his contract.
On top of that his annual salary of 7.2 million euros will also need to be paid to him if he is sacked. Added to the 5.8, it’s around 13 million. That’s the cost of binning Ronald Koeman.
