The Tottenham coach admitted he met with Bartomeu in Barcelona but said it was by chance
The coach says that because he loves Espanyol he will be loyal and not coach the Catalan giants
Mauricio Pochettino has no intention of coaching FC Barcelona. He met Josep Maria Bartomeu in the Catalan capital, as revealed by SPORT, and when asked about it he said: “It’s true that I met with Bartomeu in a bar in Barcelona. I knew Bartomeu for a long time, before he was president of Barcelona. It was a chance meeting in which we were together five minutes.”
The Argentine coach added: “I’m a follower of Espanyol, a fan of Espanyol, I love Espanyol and for that, I don’t need to talk too much [about not wanting the Barcelona job].”
He made a parallel between La Liga and the Premier League. “Imagine that Danie Levy let me go, it would be impossible to sign as coach of Arsenal. It football it is very difficult to be loyal, but I think that before being a coach or a player, one should be to loyal to what they think.”
