Tottenham want to sign Barça right-back Nelson Semedo in January
The English club are depserate to strengthen their defence this month
Tottenham are interested in Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo, according to The Mirror. The English club are prioritising signing a right-back this month. It's a position where they have been weakened following Kieran Trippier's move to Atletico Madrid, while Kyle Walker-Peters could join Crystal Palace on loan.
Semedo is not Tottenham's only option. The same report says the team coached by Jose Mourinho are also keen on Norwich's Max Aarons. They say that Semedo's potential exit could see Barça fast-track plans to sign Emerson from Real Betis.
Portugal international Semedo was heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou last summer. In the end, Barça fought hard to keep him, turning down offers from Atletico and England. however, the situation could be different when the current season finishes.
Semedo has a long contract with Barcelona but he's not essential to Ernesto Valverde's squad and the club could consider any offer if it was too good to turn down.
