The English side opted against paying the money involved in a potential deal

Tottenham briefly joined the race to sign Ousmane Dembele on Monday but the player will not move to the London club before the transfer window closes.

As well as Spurs, Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG also showed an interest in the French winger, who looks set to stay at Camp Nou for now.

Spurs considered a move late on but negotiations quickly broke down due to the figures involved in any deal for Dembele.

The English side moved on Giovani Lo Celso on Monday, who joined Villarreal, and Bryan Gil, who moved to Valencia.

Also leaving White Hart Lane was Tanguy Ndombele, who returned to his former club, Lyon.

As for incomings, Spurs completed the double signing of Juventus pair Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Betancur.

However, they will not be signing Dembele to make it a trio of arrivals on deadline day.
