Torino officials were in Barcelona to talk with club about Andrea Belotti
The top scorer in Serie A is interesting the Catalan club according to reports in Italy
Andrea Belotti's name is not among those most known in the world of football. However, the Torino striker is a man in fashion right now. In fact, he's currently the closest rival Lionel Messi has in the race for Europe's Golden Show, with 22 goals -- one less than the Barça star.
Belotti, 23, is the top scorer in the Italian league at the moment and has scored two hat-tricks already, the most recent against his former side Palermo last weekend. 'El Gallo', as he's popularly known, has admitted he's a fan of Shevchenko. He's also cited the likes of Mario Gómez, Fernando Torres, Drogba and Agüero as references.
His form in Italian football this season has made all of Europe's biggest clubs sit up and take notice. And one of those, according to the Italian pressi, is Barça. 'Toro.it' -- a website which focuses on Torino -- has explained that last Wednesday representatives from the Italian club were at Barça's game against PSG. But not just to see the game, but also to listen to Barça's first offer for the striker.
In Italy they admit that for the moment everything is in the early stages, but they don't doubt that the Catalan club are in the running for the Italian frontman.
