Thomas Vermaelen's medical report after Levante injury
The Belgian defender suffered a hamstring injury and needs more tests
Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen suffered another injury in Barca's 5-4 defeat by Levante. He appeared to hurt his right hamstring, which Barca confirmed with a small report in the second half.
Vermaelen pointed to the bench showing he needed to be brought off and duly was after half-an-hour at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium.
Further tests are needed on the injury but the defender will be worried that his participation at the World Cup will be cast into doubt if it is serious.
Injuries have long plagued him in his career and this was the first season where he has been able to build up any momentum with Barca.
