Barcelona's preseason will start on the 16th July and include friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, Roma and AC Milan

Barcelona FC have all but finalised their preseason plans for the first team squad ahead of the 2018/19 campaign. Aside from minor last minute details, Ernesto Valverde's squad will return to training on the 16th July, just one day after the World Cup Final in Russia.

On that Monday everyone who wasn't involved at the World Cup will be expected to report for training at the Cuidad Deportiva Joan Gamper.

The rest of the Barcelona players, who are playing at the tournament in Russia, will be incorporated progressively depending on when they are released by their national teams.

As it often the case, the first few days will be mainly for those players who had an extended break so they can undergo various physical and medical tests to monitor their health and fitness levels.

THE UNITED STATES tour

After a week of training at Barcelona's training facilities, the coaching staff and players will fly out to the United States to start their North American tour. This will run until the 4th August.

During Barcelona's stay in the United States they will train at one of their main sponsors, Nike's, headquarters.

The squad will travel on to Beaverton (Oregon) on the 24th July where they'll spend three days working under Nike.

THE International Champions Cup

Afterwards, Barcelona will play three friendlies in their 12 days in America for the International Champions Cup. Two of those three matches now have confirmed dates.

The first match, against Tottenham Hotspur, will be played on the 28th July at the Rose Bowl in Los Angles.

The second match, against Roma, will take place on the 31st July at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

The last and final match, against AC Milan, will be played at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara although there's no fixed date as of yet.

The Spanish Super Cup

The date for this match is dependent on finding a solution for the problems between both Barcelona and Sevilla's schedules. The original dates were the 5th and 12th of August.

However, the current RFEF president, Luis Rubiales, explained on Tuesday that they are considering alternatives which could include the tie being a single match as opposed to over two legs.
