Former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara says Pep Guardiola’s Man City team are doing well but not ‘wowing’ him.
Having played under the coach at the Camp Nou, it’s no surprise that Thiago has high standards.
"City are playing amazingly, "the 26-year-old said. "But I don't think 'wow.' [Only] Messi makes me go 'wow’,” Thiago told ESPN.
The Bayern Munich midfielder added: "Barcelona, Real Madrid, City: There are many teams you'd want to play against," he said.
"But no team has impressed me. They are football players, like us. We just have to compete and see who is better at that moment."
