The dirty war against Barcelona star Lionel Messi continues

La Razon have leaked more details from the tax case against Messi

The war against Lionel Messi continues. The day after the emotional images of him meeting the young Afghan child who made a Messi shirt out of a carrier bag circulated around the world, Madrid newspaper La Razon has leaked the report from the Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court against the Argentine footballer and his father, Jorge Messi.

In the aforementioned report, the Prosecutor's Office requests that the sentence of 21 months in jail for Leo and Jorge Messi be confirmed for three tax offenses for having defrauded 4.1 million euros from the Treasury during the fiscal years 2007, 2008 and 2009.

In the report leaked to La Razon it is argued that "the accused Lionel Messi intervened directly in the contracts regarding the exploitation of his image rights and was the administrator and sole partner of the company that received the income, given the circumstances that the income was received through interposed companies and that the receiving company was in Uruguay, a country with which the accused had no relationship."

The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court also points out, according to La Razon's information, that "the accused should be held responsible for the tax offenses for which he has been convicted because he could not ignore that he should declare and pay taxes for the sums he received from the numerous contracts signed for his image rights.

"There was no obstacle to the knowledge of compliance with the obligations incumbent on him."

For this reason, it requests that each and every one of the arguments in defense of the player and his father be rejected and the sentence of jail be confirmed.

It is curious, comparing the cases of Messi with Cristiano Ronaldo, that the Prosecutor's Office rejects that it has "violated the dignity of the player [Messi]" while the judge investigating the alleged evasion of 150 million by the Real Madrid star banned the publication of more information from Football Leaks. A small but important difference in the treatment of the two players.
