The two pivots Barcelona are looking at now

FC Barcelona are still on their tireless search for a defensive midfielder to fill the void - in sporting terms - left by Sergio Busquets.

Two of the names that have been gaining strength in recent days, according to journalist Gerard Romero on Jijantes, are Dani Parejo (Villarreal) and Oriol Romeu (Girona).

The first, 34 years old, has an exit clause, as his contract with the Yellow Submarine runs for one more year. And the latter (31), who trained at La Masia and has shone this season at Montilivi, has a contract until June 2025.

At the same time, Barça are still bidding for Brozovic -although Al-Nassr are pushing to take him to Arabia- and are still working to convince Zubimendi, Xavi's favourite, and Real Sociedad to complete a transfer.

These two options are more complicated, as well as that of Kimmich, and as of today the question mark over next season's defensive midfielder remains a big one.
