The Telegraph: Barcelona revive their interest in Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar
Barcelona would have to fight with Arsenal to land the France star
The Gunners almost signed him for 90 million euros in the summer
Barcelona have reactivated their interest in Monaco's France midfielder Thomas Lemar. Barça are interested in the young playmaker, but, according to The Telegraph, will have to fight with various Premier League sides to land his signature.
Arsenal have shown the biggest desire to land Lemar so far and in the summer were close to signing him for 90 million euros. Their failure to do meant Alexis Sanchez stayed at the club, rather than moving to Manchester City.
It's not the first time Barça have targetted Lemar. They looked at him in the summer, but Arsenal were better placed. Now they will try to strengthen their midfield again in January, despite the fact Lemar has said he wants to focus on his football and leave the possible offers to one side.
Monaco's vice president, Vadim Vasilyev, was the one who recognised the interest from Europe's biggest clubs and he said a deal with Arsenal "was about to be finalised." But, for now, there's not been any more firm news.
Liverpool are another one of the teams interested in Lemar, who is 21 and has been capped eight times by his country.
