Out of the big European leagues, Coutinho played more matches than anybody else last season (68)

FC Barcelona have revealed an unusual stat about Philippe Coutinho. Although the Brazilian made the headlines for his poor performances last season, he actually finished the campaign with a record no one else can lay claim to.

Coutinho, who is still involved in the Copa America with Brazil, has played more matches this season - across Europe's biggest leagues - than anybody else.

In total, Barça's number seven featured in 68 matches: 54 with his club side and 14 with Brazil. If his country reaches the final of the Copa America, it would take Coutinho to 70.

To further break down Coutinho's record: 34 matches came in LaLiga, 12 in the Champions League, 7 in the Copa del Rey and one in the Spanish Super Cup. Across those games, he's scored 11 goals: 5 in LaLiga, 3 in the Champions League and three in the Copa.

For Brazil, 10 of his 14 appearances came in friendlies and the remaining 4 in the current Copa America.

Next on the list is Ajax's Daley Blind with 67, then Eden Hazard and Quincy Promes on 66.
