The Chile FA expect Pizzi to remain in charge of La Roja

Barcelona have an interest in the former Valencia coach

Chilean newspaper 'El Mercurio' has revealed the release clause in Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi's contract, the amount Barcelona would have to pay if they wanted the Argentine coach to replace Luis Enrique this summer.

SPORT.es revealed Pizzi is a candidate to replace Luis Enrique this week. The reports reached Chile and generated a lot of interest in the South American country.

According to 'El Mercurio', Pizzi's release clause is worth six months of his yearly salary. The former Valencia coach signed a deal worth one million dollars annualy, so Barça would have to play 500,000 dollars if they wanted him.

Despite that, the bosses at the Chile FA are confident that Pizzi will lead the nation this year at the Confederations Cup and then next summer at the World Cup.

Pizzi replaced Jorge Sampaoli at the beginning of 2016 and led the side to the Copa America last summer, beating Argentina in the final.

His agent Ricardo Slipper has said "there has been no formal contact with Barcelona".
