Neymar's performances in the last two games have attracted criticism in his home country

Against Ecuador he was criticised for being too individualistic and against Colombia for a lack of precision

Neymar Jr., the new Emperor of Paris, has not been at his best in Brazil’s last two World Cup qualifiers.

Individualist, in a way he has never been with Tite as Brazil manager, imprecise and not working hard enough in tough conditions were just some of the criticisms in the Brazilian media.

The ‘PSG version’ of Neymar – where he does what he wants – is the antithesis of the collective spirit the Tite has engendered with Brazil.

The manager however has defended him against the criticism: “there was no problem with behaviour, it was just the circumstances,” he said.

Neymar wanted to do it all but didn’t score in either game, although he did set up Willian’s goal in the 1-1 draw against Colombia.
