The Catalan club are desperate to sell a number of players before June ends

There are 12 days left in the month of June. They wil be 12 frantic days for Barcelona as they look to close the 2018-19 accounts by bringing in more money. They only have one thing on their minds: sell, sell, sell.

In fact, since the season ended, everyone at the club (board, coaching staff and signing committee) have been working hard on the squad for next season, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

But now, and keeping in mind that no one will be signed until July 1, the priority is to sell those players who are not in coach Ernesto Valverde's plans to bring in cash.

Barça are working with various European clubs, trying to find homes for the fringe players and money to balance their accounts. There have been many phone calls, many interviews and a lot of contacts called in as they look to finalise deals.

Necessary income

For strategic reasons, Barça need to bring in close to 65 million euros before the end of the month. The deals they have been working on are primarily for the players expected to leave this summer.

Jasper Cillessen could be first to leave. Despite having offers from various clubs in England, his most likely destination is Valencia. The move is linked with the possible arrival of goalkeeper Neto at Barça.

Valencia could also provide a home for Denis Suarez and Rafinha. The former is wanted by coach Marcelino -- they worked together at Villarreal -- and the latter is preferred by the club. He's just back from an injury and has many suitors.

Another deal close to being finalised is for Andre Gomes to move to Everton. The Portugal midfielder will make his stay at Goodison Park permanent for a fee of around 23 million euros after a successful loan spell.

Two young players could also bring in money this month. Sergi Palencia and Marc Cucurella. The first had been on loan at Bordeaux and the second at Eibar. In both cases, they have done well and have offers from around Europe.
