The action will benefit 41,600 peeople in Chaco, Argentina

The Lionel Messi Foundation has donated 100,000 euros to buy 300 backpacks filled with sanitary products of primary needs for people in Chaco, Argentina. 

According to the Barça forward's Foundation, thanks to this act, 41,600 people will benefit, among them 37,755 boys and girld. These backbacks have been delivered by UNICEF, who Messi is an ambassador for, between November 2017 and September 2018.

In addition, 240 replenishment kits, among other equipment, have also been distributed to help strenghten the health servies in the area.  

Around 395,000 children and adolescents live In the province of Chaco, representing 34 percent of its population. Of these, 31.6 percent live in homes with unsatisfied basic needs, and the main cause of mortality in children under five years old is acute respiratory infection. After five years of age it is tuberculosis.

To provide a medical service to all those people divided into the thirteen departments that make up the area, health assistants move to each of the areas to perform medical checks, especially the youngest and pregnant women. The commitment of the Leo Messi Foundation with Argentina and UNICEF has allowed this solidarity action, which has been repeated in recent years thanks to the cooperation with the provincial governments, to guarantee the right to health of children and adolescents of this South American country .
