The Barcelona coach gave a tellingly short answer to a question about Arthur's absence

Barcelona coach Quique Setien left in the air the reasons for Arthur Melo's absence for the final league game of the season against Alaves this weekend.

Despite having a number of players missing, Setien named a 16-man squad for the game and the Brazilian midfielder was not included.

"The only thing I can say is that he turned up this morning saying he had a pain in his ankle," Setien said on the absence of Arthur, who will move to Juventus when the season ends.

Setien could use Arthur in the Champions League game against Napoli with Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal both suspended, but everything now suggests the former Gremio man has played his last game for the club.

He has not featured since his move to Alaves was confirmed and will not play for the club in the league again. And despite Setien's comment about pain in his ankle, Barça have not made any statement about an injury.
