The Argentine was devastated with the loss to Liverpool on Tuesday

The frustration at the defeat at Anfield encapsulated the whole of Barcelonismo, including the players themselves. According to The Guardian, Lionel Messi broke down and cried in the dressing room after the game.

After the disaster of a match at Liverpool, only Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez stepped forward to speak to the media, making it clear that there was no excuses for what happened in the 4-0 loss.

Busquets fought back the tears during his interview, which saw him apologise to supporters. Suarez was more critical of Barça's performance on the pitch.

"We can't concede two goals in a minute," the Uruguayan lamented. "We were like kids for the fourth goal. We have to understand that the criticism is going to rain down on us now."

As for Messi, the team's captain, he was the last to emerge from the dressing room after passing through anti-doping. Head down, he quickly headed for the exit. Due to the delay, the team bus had already headed to the airport without him.
