Guangzhou have signed a Brazilian forward just a few hours before the Chinese transfer window shuts

Felipe Scolari’s Guangzhou has made a move in the last few hours that could help Paulinho’s move to FC Barcelona. Just a few hours before the close of the Chinese transfer market, Guangzhou have signed the Brazilian forward Muriqui from Vasco de Gama.
After an unsuccessful spell at the Brazilian club, the forward has returned to Chinese football on a free transfer.
Although Chinese clubs cannot sign players after 14 July, they can continue to sell players. Guangzhou may now be willing to sell Paulinho to Barcelona after the signing of Muriqui, as the Chinese Super League only allows three foreigners to play per match and Guangzhou now have five in their squad.
