The four survivors from FC Barcelona's last trip to Celtic Park

There have been a lot of changes since Barça were last in Scotland three years ago

Barcelona visit Celtic Park on Wednesday night to play the fifth game of this season’s Champions League group stage. Just three years ago, they visited the same stadium. However, a lot has changed in the short time since then.

Just four players from that match are in the squad for this week’s fixture. Neymar, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto (who didn’t play a single minute) are the only players who travelled to Glasgow in 2013 and then again on Tuesday.

There are another four players, though, who were at Barça at the time of the game. While Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano and Jordi Alba missed that game three years ago injured, this time it’s Andres Iniesta who is unable to accompany his teammates in Scotland.

Barça’s current side has little to do with the one of 2013, starting on the bench, where Luis Enrique’s instilled a style of football which is different to the way Gerardo Martino’s team was playing.

However, there are some parallels. Barça won that game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Cesc Fabregas. It was a goal which came via a counter-attack, a tactic regularly employed by Luis Enrique’s Barça.

Here was that Barça side in 2013:
