Xavi will be Barça's fourth coach since 2020, following Valverde, Setien and Koeman

Barcelona have spent more than 30 million euros on coaches since the departure of Luis Enrique in 2017: on hiring and firing Ernesto Valverde, Quique Setien and Ronald Koeman and now on the appointment of Xavi Hernandez.

It's been a rocky few years on the Camp Nou bench. According to Cuatro, Setien and Koeman's payoff still need to be properly finalised as well. It's also not clear how much the club will pay to bring Xavi in.

Firing Valverde cost the club around 11 million euros. Setien is still fighting for a four million euro payoff, while Koeman's legal team are claiming 12 million euros which they feel the Dutch coach is owed.

None of this, of course, includes the salaries paid to the coaches during their time at Barcelona.

Finally, Xavi's return to the club is being negotiated, with a 5 million euro release clause the final hurdle. Xavi tried to convince Al Sadd to let him leave for cheaper.

However, the fee will have to be pair, with that to be added to Barça's outgoing on coaches.
