The first time in history Barça concede three penalties in a league game

The Catalans still managed to snatch three points against Levante in Valencia

Referee Munuera Montero awarded three penalties against Barcelona in their 3-2 win over Levante. Three penalties that were the first they had conceded this season, and also the first time in league history that Barcelona had conceded three in a game.

Two of the penalties were scored by Levante and one missed.

The first was the most contestable, when Dani Alves tangled with Son. The penalty was given but it was not clear cut. The Brazilian complained a lot. It seemed like one of the ‘little penalties’ that the referees are not giving this season. Alves stuck his arm out and Son exaggerated it. Morales finished well from the spot.

Six minutes later came another, with Roger Marti missing after a handball by Eric Garcia in the box.

The third was given eight minutes from the end and helped Levante pull level at 2-2. Dani Gomez was fouled by Clement Lenglet and he looked guilty. Melero converted but Luuk de Jong’s late winner made light work of Levante and all their penalties.
