A French media outlet wrongly implicated the Barcelona player in a crime
Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona's French forward, was involved in an arrest without wanting to be. An identification error by French media Closer said he had been detained for driving drunk on March 19. Information that could not be true because Dembele was with the French squad.
Eventually they identified the driver in question. No other than Mali player Mana Dembele, who plays for Le Harve. The 29 year old was arrested after his driving in his Mercedes Benz GLE. He tested positive for alcohol. His driving license had also been suspended beforehand and he had to hand over the keys.
Closer then rectified their mistake, saying "in a previous version of the article we announed the arrest of Ousmane Dembele, but the player in question was Mana Dembele. Our apologies."
