The visitors ran 125 kilometres at the Camp Nou, well above the 111 produced by Valverde's men

Although it might not have looked like it, FC Barcelona ran themselves into the ground against Slavia. At least, it was a lot more than we've come to expect from Ernesto Valverde's team in Europe. It didn't count for anything though as football only counts goals and results - and for some others: style. Barça couldn't find a way through and dropped their first points of the season at the Camp Nou.

The team's efforts weren't enough to convince the home supporters not to boo another disappointing performance. They aren't seeing any light at the end of the tunnel despite leading the way in LaLiga and the Champions League.

Valverde's side ran a little over 111km when you include the eleven starters and three substitutes. This is more than in the previous three matches. Away at Dortmund, they clocked up 104. At home against Inter they matched that 104km. Away in Prague, Barça squeezed a couple more kilometres out of the team and finished on 106.

Slavia are in stark contrast to Barça. They only have two points from their opening four matches but they leave everything out on the pitch. They run more than any other side in the competition. They finished last night with 125km to their name and whilst their quality might be questioned, their fitness levels can't be.

Individually speaking, Slavia's Tomas Soucek has covered more distance than anyone else. He's ran just over 50km in four matches, an average of over 12km per match. The highest-ranking Barça player is Frenkie de Jong with 46km to his name - that's good enough for 7th. Clement Lenglet is the next Camp Nou representative but he's outside of the top ten (39km).
