The goalkeeper spoke to reporters on his way to Milan for The Best awards

Before setting off to Milan for FIFA's The Best awards, where he's nominated for Best Goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen spoke to reporters about Barcelona's current situation.

The Germany international sent a very clear message: "We have to be stronger and more focused," he said. He also admitted that he understands the press and supporters talking about a crisis: "It's normal if we start La Liga as we have done. It's not normal."

Ter Stegen is convinced that Barça can turn an uncomfortable situation around: "It's no good looking back. It is what it is, we have to look forward and try to win our next games. We have to improve in some aspects and that's the only thing we're going to talk about in the coming days."

He doesn't fear for coach Ernesto Valverde's future: "He does a good job, he's going to put out the best team, what we have to do is play well and get the three points," he added.

As for Real Madrid being four points clear of Barça, the stopper is not especially worried: "It's four points, but teams like Atletico are also suffering and fighting for every point. We're just going to think about ourselves and getting three points from our next game."
