The English newspaper claim Barcelona are keeping an eye on Paul Pogba's strained relationship with Manchester United

FC Barcelona will remain interested in Paul Pogba even after the transfer window has closed on the 31st August. This is because Barça are aware of the problems Pogba is having with Manchester United and it could result in the club being open to letting the midfielder leave further down the line.

According to 'The Telegraph', United have told Barça in private that Pogba won't be sold this summer and the Catalan club respect their stance. However, Barcelona are confident about landing Pogba and feel a January move, similar to the one for Philippe Coutinho last year, could happen.

The English newspaper believes that a move is being pushed for by Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, but the player is also open to switching clubs. United would demand a profit on the €100m they spent on the midfielder two years ago. Pogba still has three years left on his existing deal.

Barça, according to the same source, offered €50m plus Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina but it was rejected. The two players are now at Everton.

'The Telegraph' say that it's very likely Barça will return for Pogba in January, or at the latest next summer. At this point Barcelona's finances will be in a stronger position to offer a lot more money for the World Cup winner, who is still only 25. At the moment the idea is to monitor Pogba's situation until the next transfer window opens. United insist that Pogba isn't for sale at any price.
