The La Liga chief spoke about the CEO departing, plus Mbappe and Haaland

La Liga president Javier Tebas spoke to ABC about Ferran Reverter’s departure from Barcelona, as well as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Asked about Laporta’s change of mind with the CVC deal, Tebas went in hard. “There you can understand that Barcelona have been kidnappped for some time,” he said. “Reverter kidnapped Barcelona’s philosophy. He was a man with a lot of contact with Florentino (Perez). You see Barcelona almost couldn’t sign, and found it hard to play in the Champions League, and you see their eternal rival is going to sign Mbappe, but not pay 200 million for him, and they might sign Haaland too.”

On Ferran Torres arriving, Tebas said: “Barcelona have had to save 140m euros. It’s true they have spent 55m, but when you work it out, it’s not all in one go in January, but for five or six years and now they’ve paid 10. It was within the rules.”

On the duo whose moves will revolutionise the summer market, Tebas saidL “Mbappe will bring a lot to Madrid, and La Liga. I’d prefer Haaland at Barcelona and Mbappe at Madrid. I want that we’re lucky enough that we have two great players at the two best teams in the world, when we had Messi and Ronaldo. I’m more of a La Liga fan than a Madrid fan now.”
